About QLTT



What is QLTT?

The Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT) is the conversion test that enables certain lawyers to qualify as solicitors in England and Wales. Those lawyers eligible to sit the test must be foreign lawyers or overseas lawyers qualified in jurisdictions that are recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority of England and Wales or must be barristers qualified to practise in England and Wales. How is CLT equipped to deliver the QLTT qualification?

CLT is fully validated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority as an accredited testing organisation for the QLTT. Test examiners and tutors are specialists in their subject areas and have extensive experience and expertise. They are qualified solicitors who have experience of both practise and of teaching Solicitors Regulation Authority examinations.



The tests are available in London and Glasgow

CLT offers the test(s) in the following countries: England, Scotland, India, and the USA.



Are you eligible to sit the QLTT?

In order to sit the QLTT you must have a Certificate of Eligibility. Please see the Eligibility section of this website for more details



How can I prepare for the exam?

CLT offer tailored distance learning material and preparation courses which will help you to prepare fully for the exams. You can book your preparation programme at the same time as booking your test. Upon registration you will also get online access to the Testing and Administration Handbook which will give you some guidance as to the structure of the test and the test syllabus.  



How to apply?

Please download a booking form from this website. Please complete all the relevant sections of the form and return it  to Professional Qualifications Division, Central Law Training LTD, Wrens Court, 52-54 Victoria Road, Sutton Coldfield, B72 1SX. Please remember to enclose a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility with your booking form.
