Certificate of Eligibility

The test covers four main subject areas (known as Heads). Before sitting the test all candidates will be required to apply to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) for a Certificate of Eligibility. This Certificate will state which Head(s) a candidate is required to pass and any requirement for further training, if any. No candidate will be able to sit the test without providing a Certificate of Eligibility. It is essential that you submit your completed application to the SRA at an early stage as the certificate can take up to 8 weeks to obtain.

The FAQs contains a QLTT section which gives a full list of jurisdictions and lawyers who are eligible to transfer under the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Regulation. Any queries relating to eligibility or exemptions from any of the Test(s) must be raised directly with the SRA (info.services@sra.org.uk) or telephone information services on +44(0) 1527 504450.
